5.0 out of 5 stars You Get What You See, January 31, 2011
Not much to say really, its a dumbbell- great for the home if you have the space, and I'd definitely recommend getting a rack if you buy a bunch of them.

As dumbbells go, these are some of my favorites. They're very well made, and won't chip or crack- very sturdy. And even if the paint comes off the numbers, the numbers are raised so there won't ever be any confusion as to what weighs what.

I personally like using the hex shape the best. Why? Well, two reasons. For one, when I raise hex dumbbells over my head to do presses or flyes, I seem to be able to balance them better, although I know there's probably no "physics" reason for this, probably all in my head.

Secondly, when I am doing flyes or overhead presses with dumbbells that have large diameter plates, and they touch in the top position, the edges of the plates can hit each other funny and make your dumbbell tip awkwardly- which never happens with the hex dumbbells due to their rounded... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Dumbells are Great for the Home Body Builder, October 25, 2005
By
I have a whole set of these, from 10 pounders to 45 pounders. They are a great fitness aid, as they are immensely portable and can be used in any room of the house, while watching TV, or next to your computer desk. There are a wealth of exercises one can do with simple dumbells: curls, bent rowing, overhead extensions, etc. If you have a bench, there are even more. Believe it or not, a home body builder can get a pretty decent workout from a limited set of these dumbells. They are relatively cheap compared to other brands. I recommend them.

5.0 out of 5 stars A nice starter dumbbell, June 17, 2007

Just like the others, this dumbbell is solidly built, and it feels very even in your hands. The design that keeps it from rolling is very beneficial, since you can put it pretty much anywhere that will support the weight. I think this is a good weight to start with, as it's a simple way to break into strength training without being too difficult. It's a particularly nice dumbbell for curls too. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase.
